thankful for W. family

I am thankful today for the Wolf family. The three girls from this family started to be very good friends of mine.
Together with Alyssa we have been keeping a correspondence for almost six moths. This was my first long term correspondence. I have learned many things about the American way of living and I was so much encouraged. Thank you Alyssa! :)
I was happy to read Amy's posts on her blog. She is a godly girl and she lets her mind to find and see God. This is an encouragement too.
About Ana I can say she is like a chef. She knows how to cook and bake many recipes so I learned many things from her. Ana helped me to add some new quotes to my quotes notebook too. :)

thankful

Today I want to be thankful for my family. They are godly people and taught me to love God. I appreciate most that they are optimist and have hope. :)
Dad helped me to understand that we need to fight for our lives and to work hard for achievements.
Mom taught me how to love and respect the people around me.
Filip is the one who helped me to understand the value of being partners.
Thank you Lord for my family! :)

"biscuits sausage"

Despite the name this is a very tasty dessert.
Ingredients:

500 grams of simple biscuits
1 cup of sugar (200 grams)
100 mils of water
125 grams of butter
1 spoon of cocoa
rum essence
100 grams of raisins

Method:
First of all I shattered the biscuits. After that I boiled the water together with the sugar, cocoa, and the butter. When it is still hot the liquid is blended with the other ingredients. You should obtain a dull just like that in the hereinafter photo.



Now it starts the funny part! You need two or three cut plastic bags. You put some dough alongside one part of the bag just like in the next photo.


Next you have to roll the bag around the dull and you will get the finished sausage. :) Here it is an other picture.


Before serving you have to unroll the plastic bag and cut the pieces.

squash food

Today I made some squash food. The pictures tell the method.



I sliced the squash and salted every squash piece. Do not use too much salt!


I powdered the squash with flour and I beat up two eggs.


Roasting! :)

We serve it usually wit rice or with pasta. Yum!

yellow food :)

Today I will give you two recipes.
First one is a very simple traditional dish. We call it "Mamaliga".

Ingredients:
  • 2 liters of water
  • 200 grams of maize flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 spoon of butter
  • cheese
  • sausages
Method:
We boil the water with the salt and then we strew the maize flour mixing continuously with a whisk. It has to boil for 10 minutes at slow heat. When it is done we add the butter. We roast the sausages. In a serving bowl we put succesive layers of grease (from the roasted sausages), mamaliga and cheese. In the end we add the sausages.

The second one is a salad. I will call it "Vegetable and cheese salad".

Ingredients:
  • 1 carrot (a big one)
  • 2 spoons of celery root
  • 2 teaspoons of butter
  • some cottage cheese
  • salt, pepper, (vinegar and sugar)
  • some fresh onion
Method:
I have found in a supermarket in Cluj clelery root pickles. But you can use it fresh and add some extra vinegar and sugar in the salad to have the same taste.
You scour finely the carrot ( and the celery) and add everything else. That's all.
It is tasty to serve it with a roasted egg.
